This is my tribute to him....to see someone die in these circumstances breaks my heart i grew up with this boy around the longsight (cochrane and Langport) area of manchester and knew pretty much all his extended family and friends. Gun crime is an obvious problem in these inner city areas of manchester and now has to be addressed by the goverment, to many young people have lost there lives to senseless violence...neways let me leave it to the rest of you to pay respect to Tyrone....show some love peace....Rest in peace g....never forgoton

Tyrone Donovan Gilbert, of Langport Avenue, Longsight, was standing on Frobisher Close when he was shot shortly before midnight on Friday night. It is thought that a green Honda Legend and another car were involved in the shooting. It is believed that both cars were travelling along Markfield Avenue when shots were fired from the cars into the close towards Mr Gilbert and a group of people who were gathered on the street. Following the shooting, the cars drove off. The Honda was later found abandoned a short time later on Firethorn Avenue in Burnage and it has been seized for forensic examination.Armed and unarmed officers remain in the areas on order to deter any further incidents and provide community reassurance.
